The General Secretariat for the Apostolate
The General Secretariat for the Apostolate is an auxiliary body of the General Administration. Its tasks consist of programming and coordinating the apostolic activities undertaken by the Pallottine communities in different countries. The work of the Secretariate consists mainly of gathering the experiences of various apostolic activities in different countries, make a pastoral and theological reflection of it and to elaborate the general projects.
The marked federative character of the structure of our Society has as a consequence that the concrete apostolic projects are realized in the local communities and in the Provinces.
The task of the Secretariate is to elaborate the guide lines for greater efficiency and for the international coordination of various initiatives.
The General Secretariate for the Apostolate is composed of the following confreres: Fr. Rahul Philips (General Secretary), Fr. Joseph Koyickal (MD, Fr. Santiago Estéban Juárez Fuertes (CJ.ES), Fr. Francisco Marques (RJ), Fr. John Britto Gnanaprakasam (TN), Fr. Kamil Wolan (PN), Fr. Eusébio Gastão Mauaie (SM.MZ) and Fr. Charles Lafferty (IR.AR).
In the coming years the Secretariate will concentrate mainly on three apostolic fields: the socio-charitable apostolate, the family apostolate and youth ministry/Pallottine schools. For each apostolic field the members of the Secretariate will study the situation and the main challenges, looking for proper responses, promoting new initiatives and taking concrete steps to realise projects.
