L’indulgenza:
Altro segno peculiare ѐ l’indulgenza, che ѐ uno degli eventi costitutivi dell’evento giubileo. In essa si manifesta la lienezza della misericordia del Padre, che a tutti viene incontro con il suo amore, espresso in primo luogo nel perdono delle colpe. Ordinariamente Dio Padre concede il suo perdono mediante il sacramento della Penitenza e della Riconciliazione. Il cedimento consapevole e libero al peccato grave, infatti, separa il credente dalla vita di grazia con Dio e perciò stesso lo esclude nell’amore piuttosto che ricadere nel peccato…
Vivere dunque l’indulgenza nell’Anno Santo significa accostarsi alla misericordia del Padre con la certezza che il suo perdono si estende su tutta la vita del credente. Indulgenza ѐ sperimentare la santità della Chiesa che partecipa a tutti I benefici della redenzione di Cristo, perché il perdono sia esteso fino alle estreme consequenze a cui giunge l’amore di Dio. Viviamo intensamente il Giubileo chiedendo al Padre il Padre il perdono dei peccati e l’estensione della sua indulgenza misericordiosa.
The Indulgence:
Another distinctive sign of the Jubilee is the indulgence, which is one of the core elements of the Jubilee event. In it, the tenderness of the **Father’s mercy** is manifested—a mercy that reaches out to everyone with His love, expressed first and foremost in the forgiveness of sins.
Ordinarily, God the Father grants His forgiveness through the Sacrament of Penance and Reconciliation. Willfully and freely giving in to grave sin separates the believer from the life of grace with God, and thus excludes one from love rather than leading back into sin...
Therefore, to live the indulgence during the Holy Year means to draw near to the Father’s mercy, with the certainty that His forgiveness extends over the entire life of the believer. An indulgence is to experience the holiness of the Church, which shares in all the benefits of Christ’s redemption, so that forgiveness may reach even the furthest consequences touched by God’s love.
Let us live the Jubilee with intensity, asking the Father for the forgiveness of sins and the gift of His merciful indulgence.
